Ms. BUSH HAS RESIGNED EFFECTIVE MAY 13TH:
It is with great sadness that I inform our Hopewell MS Community that our Algebra One, Tag 6th Grade Math, Geometry, and Enriched Pre-Algebra teacher has resigned effective May 13th.  I’m sure that the decision to leave the kids and school that she loved was excruciating but family always comes first. She is going to be living in Ohio to be her Grandmother’s caretaker and will not be back.  We will miss her deeply and the positive impact that she had on so many young lives was profound.  In my 34 years as an educator, she is by far the best Algebra teacher I have ever worked with.  I am informing her students and will be giving them a letter explaining the situation to them today.  I have a certified math teacher in place for the remaining 14 days of school and will be hiring her replacement for next school year.

8TH GRADE FIELD TRIP RE-CAP:
Our 8th graders had a tough stormy 8th grade day this past  out at Reunion Ranch but all seemed to still have a great time hanging with their friends away from school.   Our students have worked hard preparing all year for their STAAR and EOC assessments and this gesture of appreciation by their teachers was a nice gift for them.  We called them back a couple hours early to get them out of harm’s way with approaching thunderstorms and they spent the balance of the afternoon watching a movie in our lecture hall.  They made a memory!
BOARD RECOGNITIONS SPECIFIC TO HOPEWELL MS:
This  is Hopewell Night at the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees meeting at RRHS at   Our choir will be performing the National Anthem and our Junior Historians will again be recognized for their state and national achievements.  We are very proud of those two Hopewell organizations!

END OF YEAR ROUND UP!:
Don’t forget to begin rounding up and organizing those textbooks to turn in.  Any library books and other obligations will need to be reconciled in order for our students to receive their schedules next fall.
We will have our first annual “HORNET HELLO” which students will come back to Hopewell and pick up their new schedules, set up lockers, walk their new schedules, and meet up with friends as we start the new school year.  HORNET HELLO will be on .  More information on times for schedule pick up will be announced in future Waggoner’s Words so be looking for that.
