TREVIN WADE-GUEST
SPEAKER FOR OUR BOYS
Friday morning Trevin Wade, former Hopewell Hornet, Stony
Point Tiger, University of Arizona Wildcat, and current New York Giant NFL
football player spoke to our boys in the cafeteria about making good choices in
life, how to treat girls and others with respect, and the importance of working
hard and getting a good education matters in life. Coach Page did an exceptional job introducing
Trevin and talking about the kind of kid he was at Hopewell and what kind of
man he has become. This is the boy’s
assembly that is the follow up to the Alexis Jones assembly we held for our
girls back in February. We are continuing to make the necessary
changes at Hopewell MS to ensure that we are not only developing academic
health but also emotional health as well.
Growing up can be painful in the middle school years and providing these
opportunities to hear inspiring perspectives on life will help our kids grow up
to be happy and productive lives.
CLOTHES CLOSET
INFO:
Please donate gently used clothes along with NEW socks
and underwear to the RRISD Clothes Closet. The clothes are given to students
enrolled in RRISD from Pre K-12th grades. Donations may be placed in the large green
and white box in the lower commons next to the athletic display cases. Please remember that all items must be within
RRISD dress code. We DO NOT accept
shoes, belts, hats or used under garments.
Thank you in advance for your donations!
LOST & FOUND
REMINDER:
We are now in the waning days of the 2014-2015 school
year and it’s time to have your child rummage through the lost and found
located outside the cafeteria. Please
have them check for their personal belongings.
We will be collecting the lost and found items on Friday, May 15th
and donating them to the Clothes Closet.

TEXTBOOKS &
LIBRARY BOOKS:
We will be collecting textbooks and library books in the
next couple of weeks as we close out instruction for this school year. Please ask your child if they have all their
textbooks ready to turn in and any library books that need to be returned to
our library. If they have lost these
books, they will not be able to pick up their class schedules next fall until
that obligation has been cleared. Now is
the time to start the search and gather the books to turn in. Thanks!
FINAL EXAM
SCHEDULE AND STUDENT END OF YEAR AWARDS:
We will have this information posted on our school
website beginning Monday, May 11th and will send specific dates your
way in next week’s Waggoner’s Word. The
last week in June is slated for both of these!
